On Saturday evening a gunman walked into the GLBT center in Tel Aviv during an activity for teenagers, took his gun out, wounded 15 and killed two.
We still do not know who did it – the murderer just walked away and is still free – but this event, without a doubt showed us the true face of homophobia, hate and violence. Solidarity demonstrations, marches and rallies took place yesterday in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Haifa and Be’er Sheva. This was the first ever pride parade, though a sad one, to ever take place in Be’er Sheva, and we were proud to take part in it. We were about 250 people, and we marched from the court hall to the local GLBT center in the old city, where we lit candles and heard a few speeches by the leaders of the chapter, parents and others.
