May Day 2010 in Haifa
May 1st, 2010 § 4 Comments
Hundreds of Women, Men, Jews, Palestinians, Israelis and non-Israelis, joined the May Day march and rally in Haifa today. This was my first year to attend this demonstration of solidarity with workers, and all those suffering from exploitation here, and around the world.
I have to admit that the charm of this march in Haifa is also what makes it so odd: A coalition of labor-Zionists, communists, anarchists, socialists, social-democrats, union activists, peace activists, student organizations and just random people like myself from almost all religions and walks of life in the Haifa area all marching together in this strange parade. Why strange? I guess because we’re so not used to, unfortunately, seeing so many people, so different from each other, working together for one simple cause they can all agree on: fairness.
