Demonstration Against the Execution of Troy Davis, GA State Capitol
September 21st, 2011 § 1 Comment
The state of Georgia will execute Troy Davis tomorrow for a crime he is very likely innocent of committing. I find the mere idea of a death penalty morally wrong, and it is in cases like these where the injustice screams, yet we still fail to abolish this law; a law that might kill someone who might be innocent tomorrow. The #TooMuchDoubt campaign, led by Amnesty International and the NAACP was right on the spot: If there is too much doubt regarding a person’s conviction, how can we let him DIE?
Here’s a good read with a summery of this story.
These pictures were taken at the demonstration on the Georgia state capitol steps at 7 PM tonight, 24 hours before Troy Davis’ planned injection with the poison that will kill him.
